User Experience (UX) encompasses both game design and user design, often defining the bridge between other game development disciplines. Game developers are increasingly identifying UX as a specialized field within game development. While all developers design for the player, the focus of UX leverages communication, visual design, cognitive science, and other methods to help define the player experience across the various game systems. In this roundtable session, you will cover different methods used in the UX discipline, samples being personas, journey mapping, prototyping, and more. This roundtable provides a venue to discuss challenges and successes using various methods, and provide a method to strengthen the UX community and knowledge sharing to help make the best player experience possible!
Attendees will share their experiences, challenges, and successes for using various UX methods in game development. Expect to leave with an understanding of how various methods are being within development, and how to approach utilizing them within game development studios.
