Virtual reality is one of the most exciting areas in game development today, with lessons constantly being learned that confounds traditional design sensibilities, technologies being created to make it more immersive and stimulating, and collaborations allowing for cross-pollination across industries and the creation of experiences that do more than simply entertain. This panel of VR visionaries and game dev pioneers examines virtual reality in the context of serious games, with a nod to the unique affordances of VR for training and health, the challenges of designing serious games in VR environments, best practices in design, production and project principles for VR Serious Games, and the past (and future!) of VR/AR/MR beyond entertainment.

Takeaway

Attendees will be informed of the best practices in both technical and design pipelines for complex VR/AR/MR projects, including challenges and benefits encountered by both large organizations and small game studios. Attendees will be educated on how VR is best used for serious purposes, and the future of the technology.
