Ben Abraham has been involved in the digital games industry since founding the games blogosphere aggregator site ‘Critical Distance’ in 2009, his games writing has been discussed by industry leaders like Clint Hocking, Antony Burch, Manveer Heir, and others. For the past several years his research has focussed on ensuring the sustainability of digital games, as part of the University of Technology Sydney Climate Justice Research Centre he has published in journals like Games and Culture and Transformations. His first book, Digital Games After Climate Change, looks at how the games industry can help address the climate crisis and is due to be published by Palgrave in early 2022. He has recently moved on from academia to pursue other opportunities.
