Jason Bakker is a writer, programmer, designer, and producer on Wayward Strand. He has worked in the games industry since 2006, when he joined Wicked Witch Software, working on many games across handheld, mobile and console - most notably, as lead programmer/designer on Catapult King (iOS/Android, 2012).
From 2014-2015 Jason worked at League of Geeks, where he led development on Armello from prototype, through Early Access, to release on Steam and PlayStation 4. Since 2016 he has been part of the ghost pattern team, making Wayward Strand - a heartfelt interactive story about a teenage girl who explores an airborne hospital and gets to know the patients and staff on board.
He has also made several non-commercial games, including Need 4e+9 Speed, a transcendental driving experience created in collaboration with Kalonica Quigley, which was featured at Parallels 2019, and has since been exhibited at Mild Rumpus at GDC, the V&A Museum, and LIKELIKE. Over the past several years, he has been a mentor and co-teacher in the RMIT games program.
His passions are experimental gameplay, personal expression, and interactive storytelling.
