Sharang Biswas is an interactive artist, game designer, and writer. He is currently the Game Design Artist in Residence at the Museum of the Moving Image and teaches game design at Fordham University and New York University. From 2018-2020, Sharang was a visiting teaching fellow at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan, focussing on interactive art. Sharang has lectured about interactive art at institutions such as Dartmouth, Columbia, De Paul University, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and at festivals such as Games for Change, The International Festival of Independent Games (IndieCade), and the Boston Festival of Independent Games. He has showcased interactive works at venues including the Museum of the Moving Image (Queens), Manhattan Borough President’s Office, the Toronto Reference Library, the Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), and Pioneer Works (Brooklyn).
Sharang has won awards for innovation from the International Festival of Independent Games and the Independent Game Developers Network. He has published essays in Eurogamer, First Person Scholar, and Kill Screen, while his fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in magazines including Strange Horizons, Lightspeed, and Fantasy. Sharang is the co-editor of STRANGE LUSTS / STRANGE LOVES: AN ANTHOLOGY OF EROTIC INTERACTIVE FICTION (Strange Horizons, 2021), and HONEY & HOT WAX: AN ANTHOLOGY OF EROTIC ART GAMES (Pelgrane Press, 2020). He is currently a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA).
