Alan got his start in Technical Design by writing Quake 1 model exporters for 3DStudio R4 and Lightwave, since he and his college friends didn’t have the cash for an SGI and SoftImage, but they wanted to build new monsters and guns anyway. Since then, he has done game design, systems design, scripting, tools programming, and just a smidge of gameplay coding on many of his favorite games (and hopefully some of yours, too) Most recently he can be found leading a brave team of technical designers and testers on a mission to make Destiny 2 easier to build and maintain through clean systems design and content standards, built into easy-to-use tools and documentation.
