Oliver CastanedaSenior Software Engineerthatgamecompany

Oliver Castaneda is a senior software engineer at thatgamecompany who specializes in graphics and engine programming. He first became interested in computer graphics at the age of 10 making Flash games for the web, and went on to study computer science at Stanford with a focus in real time rendering. He worked as software engineer and researcher for 5 years with Verizon Labs on augmented and virtual reality applications for 5G internet and mobile devices before eventually finding a home in the game industry with TGC working on graphics for Sky: Children of the Light. At TGC, Oliver has maintained and improved rendering software since early 2022, written shaders for characters, environments and post processing effects, developed procedural animation systems for concert events, and was instrumental in porting Sky's rendering engine to PlayStation and Windows. He is currently leading graphics engineering on the studio's next game.
