David Coleman is a Technical Art Director at The Coalition, which is the Microsoft Game Studio for the Gears of War franchise. As such, Davids role is primarily focused on character, weapons and vehicle rigging as well as art and animation tools. In prior roles, David was a Senior CG Supervisor at Electronic Arts, leading a rigging team which supported a EA Sports games. David presented "Character Rigging for Gears or War - Ultimate Edition" at Siggraph 2015 in Los Angeles. David also co-presented, "Character Rigging, deformations, and simulations in film and game production", at Siggraph 2011, in Vancouver. David taught animation and motion capture courses at the Center for Digital Imaging and Sound, as well as the Art Institute of Vancouver, in addition to teaching Autodesk Masterclasses in Australia, Korea, China and Japan. David currently lives in Vancouver, BC.
