Seth Cooper is an Associate Professor in the College of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern University. He was previously Creative Director of the Center for Game Science at the University of Washington, where he earned his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering. Seth's work focuses on using video games to crowdsource the solutions to difficult real world problems. He is the co-creator of Foldit, a video game that has allowed hundreds of thousands of players to contribute to biochemical scientific research. He has also developed free early math educational games that have received millions of plays online, including Refraction and Treefrog Treasure. Seth has spent time working in industry at Square Enix, Electronic Arts, and Pixar Animation Studios.
