Derek Diaz, UX/UI Director, Epic Games

Derek Diaz, a UX/UI Director at Epic Games that has spent the last 10+ years working on Fortnite. He feels fortunate to have been involved in the design and implementation of UI across a variety of areas in Fortnite, including the new Ballistic game mode, Battle Royale, Creative, Mobile, UEFN, Save the World and more! With a Ph.D. in Human Factors and over 20 years conducting user centered design, he is passionate about crafting awesome player experiences and empowering creators to produce their best work. Most recently, he’s been focusing on helping Fortnite Creators raise the quality bar of the UI they can produce using the tools made available in Fortnite and UEFN.).
