Gaetano Dimita is a Senior Lecturer in International Intellectual Property Law at Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London where he teaches ‘Interactive Entertainment Law’, ‘Interactive Entertainment Transactions’, ‘Esports Law’, and ‘Art & Intellectual Property Law’.
He is the Co-Author of the second edition of ‘Mastering the Game- Business and Legal Issues for Video Game Developers’ (you can download it for free at https://www.wipo.int/copyright/en/creative_industries/video_games.html); the founder and editor-in-chief of the Interactive Entertainment Law Review (IELR – https://www.elgaronline.com/view/journals/ielr/ielr-overview.xml), and he created and organizes the ‘More Than Just a Game’ conference series (MTJG - https://www.mtjg.co.uk/).
Gaetano serves as Executive Committee member of the British Literary and Artistic Copyright Association (BLACA), as Board Member of the National Video Game Museum (NVM); and as member of the UK IPO Copyright Advisory Council. He is also a member of Italian Bar Association (Rome), the Video Game Bar Association, the Fair Play Alliance, and the Higher Education Video Game Association.
Gaetano is a qualified lawyer (Italian Bar Association) and Of Counsel of an Italian Law firm specialized in video game law, Andrea Rizzi & Partners, advising on Intellectual Property Law, Licensing and Regulation.
