Sessions do fill up and seating is first come, first serve, so arrive early to sessions that you would like to attend.
Alex Jaffe is the Lead Champion Designer on Project L at Riot Games. He has worked on Project L for 6 years, beginning as a metagame designer, quickly moving to core gameplay rules and champion design, then eventually into his current role. He previously worked as a game designer at Spry Fox, as the initial lead designer on Alphabear 2. He worked as a game designer and data scientist on several games at Spry Fox, including Alphabear, Bushido Bear, Steambirds Alliance, and Road Not Taken. Prior to Spry Fox, Alex founded the analytics and balancing branch of Kongregate's mobile publishing division, working with ten F2P mobile developers to improve their games. He was a technical designer at SuperBot Entertainment, using player data to rebalance PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale across several iterations. He did his Ph.D. in computer science, with a dissertation titled "Understanding Game Balance with Quantitative Methods." He has given two prior GDC talks: "Metagame Balance" and "Cursed Problems in Game Design".
