Melissa Kagen, Assistant Professor, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Melissa Kagen, PhD (Stanford University), is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Interactive Media & Game Development program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She has taught 48 classes at the undergraduate or graduate level and given 26 peer reviewed conference presentations, 11 invited guest lectures, and 3 keynote lectures. Her first book, Wandering Games, was published by MIT Press in 2022. She has published peer reviewed work in Game Studies, Convergence, Gamevironments, and Journal of Gaming & Virtual Worlds, among other journals, as well as authored essays for popular outlets like The Guardian, Tor.com, and Sidequest. She serves as Co-Editor of the Journal of Gaming & Virtual Worlds.
