Juan Miguel Lechuga PérezSenior Gameplay Programmer Massive Entertainment – a Ubisoft Studio

Juan Miguel Lechuga Pérez (Juanmi) is a Senior Gameplay Programmer for Massive Entertaintment - a Ubisoft Studio. After 12 years working in the videogame industry, he has amassed experience working in both small indie and big AAA studios as a game programmer with experience from roles in Gameplay, AI, UI and Engine Programming for the PC, console and mobile platforms. Born in 1987 in Spain, he always was interested in playing videogames and loved tinkering and disassembling things. During the early 2000s, he got a 486 PC which sparked his tinkering curiosity for software and made him start learning programming by himself in order to fix and keep tinkering with that PC. This made him choose the path of becoming a computer engineer at the University of Granada in Spain, where he developed some small games for a website as a freelancer. Eventually Juanmi took an opportunity to study abroad for a year, and found his first job in the industry as a game programmer in a small indie studio called Brightside Games in Berlin, Germany. It followed up with similar roles at other indie companies until he got a chance to jump into a freshly formed AAA studio in Hamburg. This kickstarted his adventure into the AAA videogame industry that lead him to where he is today at Malmö, Sweden and work in games such as Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and Star Wars Outlaws.
