Renee Nejo, Art Director, GIM
Renee is a dedicated 3D artist and educator with a passion for using games as a medium for storytelling and cultural preservation and is Art Director on the Reclaim! project.. Additionally, she is currently serving as a tenured professor of 3D Art and Game Design at Bellevue College, she also holds the position of Program Chair for the Digital Media Art Program. As the Principal Investigator for the Northwest XR EDU Network, a $750K NSF Grant Funded Project that she secured, Renee is committed to advancing education in digital media. Renee is a strong advocate for demonstrating the depth and significance of video games, challenging the notion that they are merely "low brow" entertainment. She has shared her insights as a speaker at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) and the East Coast Games Conference, inspiring others through her commitment to elevating the medium. With a belief that games can convey profound messages, Renee continues to influence the next generation of creators, guiding them to harness the power of art and storytelling in their work.
