Since the company was founded back in 2006, Patrick O’Luanaigh has always been a forward-thinking leader with nDreams. After nDreams started out with ambitious experiences for PlayStation Home – a platform that has come under the spotlight once again as an example of an early ‘Metaverse’ – Patrick became enamored with the creative potential of virtual reality and pivoted to fully focus on this emerging space in 2013.
While competitors came and went, nDreams remained steadfastly dedicated to making the best possible VR games, adapting to the ever-accelerating hardware and technical capabilities. He navigated a growing team through the years in which VR was still emerging, never wavering in his conviction that this would ultimately develop into a major gaming platform and market.
That belief is now being vindicated, not least with nDreams receiving $35 million in investment from Aonic Group in 2022. nDreams has also expanded to encompass three studios, is exploring uncharted territory including live service VR titles, and boasts successful VR games such as Phantom: Covert Ops, Little Cities and Fracked. There is also the exciting Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord to come, which was announced by Mark Zuckerberg at Meta’s Gaming Showcase and is hotly anticipated by fans worldwide.
