Chella Ramanan is the co-founder of POC in Play, an organisation focused on improving the visibility and representation of people of colour in the games industry. She is also the narrative lead/co-founder of 3-Fold Games, the studio behind the BAFTA-nominated indie game 'Before I Forget'. She is currently a narrative designer for a AAA studio, in Sweden.
Chella spent 20 years as a games journalist, before moving into game development. As an award-nominated journalist, Chella focused on the representation of women and people of colour in games and the industry. Her work includes writing for The Guardian, broadcasting for the BBC, hosting BAFTA panels and she was part of the V&A exhibition on games called 'Design Play Disrupt'.
Her career continues to focus on telling stories that elevate marginalised perspectives and challenge the accepted default. She is also co-founder of Her achievements include Gameindustry.biz 100, Evening Standard Influential Londoner and Game Dev Heroes awards.
