Dillan Schmitz, Composer & Sound Designer, King Aurorus Music
Dillan Schmitz (A.K.A King Aurorus) is a Canadian award-winning soundtrack composer/sound designer working in video games, animation and film. He is currently based in Calgary, AB. His personal style blends timbres from electronic, retro, orchestral and world styles. Dillan’s personal artistry blends elements of sound design in his composition and vise-versa for his sound design. Looking to utilize the elements of soundscape in his music and the natural flow and evolution of music in his sound design. Dillan has over 20+ titles to his name including video games, multi award winning films and animations. Through his work he has won or been nominated from awards ranging from the Global Music Awards to the YYCMA’s. He has also worked on projects ranging from Vtuber collaborations to podcasts. Dillan is a graduate from both the University
of Calgary with a focus in classical music composition, and also from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor in Music for film, TV and video games. Outside of his profession some of Dillan’s hobbies include video games, watching anime/cartoons, powerlifting, programming synthesizers and voice acting. Dillan is also heavily involved in his local game developer’s scene as a director of the non-profit organization the Calgary Game Developers Association.
