Michael Sewell is the Head of the Technical Design Animation department at Gearbox Software. He is a developer focused around animation, with 6 years of experience having shipped 3 titles as an animator. He shifted to animation implementation after inspiration from multiple GDC talks, building and leading a new department at Gearbox Software: Technical Design Animation. From the beginning, Michael has been driven by a desire to push the visual fidelity that animation in games can achieve. Ever striving from that goal, he continues to take inspiration from the incredible works at other studios and now wishes to give back to the community that continually inspires his career.
