Bart Simon, Professor, Concordia University
Bart Simon is Professor of Sociology and Anthropology, game maker and modder, and the founding Director of the Milieux Institute for Arts, Culture, and Technology at Concordia University in Montreal. His areas of expertise cross game studies and design, science and technology studies, and cultural sociology and his research focuses on the material and cultural dimensions of technologically mediated play and games. Some of his game-making has been featured at Indiecade, A MAZE, and MUTEK, and his writing has been published in Games and Culture, Game Studies and Loading. His current work focuses on immersive theatre and games, modding cultures and Minecraft, and solar game design.
