Dr. Johanna Weststar (she/her) specializes in industrial relations and human resource management and is interested in project-based work in the creative industries, occupational identity and citizenship at work. She has focused her research on the workers who make video games and written about working conditions, occupational community, individual and collective action, and the representation of women. Since 2009, she has designed and implemented the annual Developers Satisfaction Survey for the IGDA. Johanna has been a speaker at numerous academic and industry events, including GDC 2015.
