Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator, SAG-AFTRA
Duncan Crabtree-Ireland is the National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator of SAG-AFTRA, the world’s largest entertainment union, with more than 160,000 members worldwide who work in film, television, broadcast news, commercials, music, video games and more. Crabtree-Ireland has played a critical role in many of SAG-AFTRA’s signature achievements over the past two decades. He was a key participant in the successful merger between SAG and AFTRA in 2012, and has personally led or overseen negotiations for many of SAG-AFTRA’s contracts. Currently, Crabtree-Ireland is leading SAG-AFTRA, along with union President Fran Drescher, through a strike of the TV/Theatrical Contract. He has strongly advocated for members’ rights, insisting on a pathway to a new contract and a better future for all. He is also the co-host of the SAG-AFTRA Podcast and the SAG-AFTRA Podcast en Español. He holds a Juris Doctorate from UC Davis and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Georgetown University.
