AI agents that write code are everywhere; agents that do production work in Unreal Editor at a triple-A studio are not. This session tells the story of Claireon, the open-source (MIT) plugin that gives Claude 600+ professional-grade tools for game development. Karl Gluck walks through the architecture decisions critical to a workflow where agents implement but developers stay in control.

Takeaway

Attendees leave with an understanding of the agentic development landscape in Unreal and transferable techniques for working with agents on their own projects. They see how non-engineers adopt and use this technology alongside the engineering team, and learn a stack of techniques applicable to any agentic toolchain.

Intended Audience

This session targets gameplay, engine and tools programmers, technical directors, and production leads evaluating agentic AI for development workflows. Attendees need general familiarity with Unreal Editor, version control, and an AI agent like Claude Code. No prior machine-learning experience is required. This is an engineering and production talk, not a research talk.
