Anno 117: Pax Romana is a city builder in the Roman setting where the player frames a trade empire with archipelago metropoles starting from a single branch office. It is exemplary for the acoustic challenges you face in the Empire Builder genre; Listener Position, Zoom Detail, Sandbox Clustering.
With the use of Wwise from Audiokinetic, and custom tools for the proprietary Empire Engine, we were able to solve these challenges and achieve a smooth Audio Experience for three unique starting regions, hundreds of building variants, sea and land units, plus user interface feedback breathing new life into the growing cities of the Players to enjoy for hours.
Learn from the Genre Primus how to build and scale the audio to cater for an empire builder. Be inspired by the approach and execution of the Anno 117: Pax Romana Audio Production.
