Breaking in is only half the battle. Once you're in, where do you go from here? How do you keep yourself from getting stuck in a junior role with no idea how to move up and pursue your long-term goals? In this session, narrative designers Luca Azenaro-Acero and Zoe Calamar discuss actionable strategies for breaking out of junior jail, covering both the skills that mid-level talent should have and how to demonstrate those skills to your lead. Though this lecture is coming from the perspective of two writers, much of the advice given is applicable to any discipline, giving junior talent from all across the industry a crash-course in getting that first big promotion.

Takeaway

Attendees will learn the skills they need to secure their first promotion and how to demonstrate those skills to their leads.

Intended Audience

This session is intended for working junior developers who are looking to advance their careers, but aren't sure where to start.
