AI voice is in game production pipelines across budget levels, but most teams are navigating the compliance, union, and communication decisions that determine whether it goes smoothly without a clear framework. This session examines what triggers backlash around AI voice in games versus what protected shipped AAA titles that went through the hardest version of this process without incident, including Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and God of War Ragnarök. The session covers what legally using AI voice requires in practice: compensation structures for union and non-union projects, the Four C's framework, and what the current SAG-AFTRA interactive agreement requires. It closes with a six-item pre-ship checklist applicable to any title with AI voice in the pipeline.

Takeaway

Attendees gain a production-level framework for using AI voice legally and without incident — covering compensation structures, credit requirements, SAG-AFTRA compliance, and a six-item pre-ship checklist drawn from shipped AAA titles they can apply to any project where AI voice is a current or future consideration.

Intended Audience

Audio directors, producers, narrative leads, and business affairs professionals at studios using or evaluating AI voice on live or upcoming titles. No technical AI background required. Union and non-union productions equally relevant.
