Agenda
Game AI Roundtable Day 1
The Game AI Roundtable is organized into three sessions, with each session having its own focus.
Session 1 centers on traditional, non-ML game AI. Topics include behavior trees, utility systems, navigation, tools, and other established techniques. This session avoids machine learning (which is covered on day 3) to keep the conversation targeted towards current mainstream game AI.
Session 2 is a fast-paced Q&A session aimed at all experience levels. Designers, students, programmers, animators, producers, and anyone else curious about game AI are encouraged to bring questions. The goal is to answer as many questions as possible and cover a broad range of topics rather than dive deeply into any single one.
Session 3 focuses on machine learning and generative AI, including LLMs. Discussion will cover current uses, challenges, ethics, and the evolving role of these technologies in games.
Takeaway
Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of current game AI practices, from established techniques to emerging ML and LLM approaches. Each session offers a different perspective, with day 1 focusing on practical methods.
Intended Audience
Day 1 is aimed at programmers and technical designers who are familiar with game AI.
