A process presentation with a checklist designed to help devs work with SAG-AFTRA from the decision to use professional actors through to shipping their game.
This will be a joint presentation with the CEO of IronRoot games who is developing a video game on one of SAG-AFTRA's Tiered Budget contracts.
Should you use union actors.. why or why not?
How do you start the process?
Where do you find performers?
When and how to talk to the Union, the agents, or casting directors; or how to reach actors directly.
What resources and tools exist to help you find, hire, and work with actors?
The session includes an "AMA" for devs to ask questions about the available Union contracts and get tips and tools to work successfully with the union and actors.
With the Chair of Video Games at SAG-AFTRA taking part, this will also be a useful session for SAG-AFTRA to solicit feedback and make adjustments to it's procedures, policies, and contracts to become more accessible to game devs.

Takeaway

1. The process to find and hire union performers
2. The variable, but affordable costs associated with hiring union performers
3. The guidelines around working conditions and AI regulations when working with union performers.
4. Resources and tools available to make the process easier for devs.

Intended Audience

Indie through AAA developers who make performance driven games.
