Agenda
K12 and Youth Roundtable Day 2: Game Education Pedagogy
Teaching any subject is difficult, but teaching Game Development in High Schools, Middle Schools or Youth camp settings is made more difficult by a lack of collaboration and research into the best instructional practices, curriculum structures and field-tested programs. Teachers often find themselves isolated institutionally or geographically and can struggle to get help in improving their instruction.
This roundtable brings K12 and Youth Game Development educators together to discuss and compare curriculum models, instructional practices and assessment strategies they have employed in their Game Development programs. Providing an opportunity for Educators to share their expertise, get advice for their struggles and tap into our collective experience to improve our teaching practice.
Takeaway
Attendees will leave with a better understanding of instructional practices, assessment methods and curriculum design in K12 and Youth Game Development education programs.
Intended Audience
This roundtable is for educators, curriculum designers or administrators who are working in the K12/Youth Education space or people interested in the design and execution of Game Development curriculum for use in a High School, Middle School or Camp Setting.
