The review will focus on clarity of design thinking, communication of ownership, case study structure, and overall presentation effectiveness. Attendees will gain insight into how portfolios are evaluated during actual hiring discussions, including what stands out positively and what raises concerns.
Rather than theoretical advice, this session provides a transparent look at how design portfolios are assessed in practice. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to strengthen their own work and better communicate their readiness for professional opportunities.

Takeaway

Attendees will gain insight from live portfolio critiques conducted by experienced designers with hiring and production backgrounds. Through real examples and structured feedback, participants will see how portfolios are evaluated in practice, what strengthens an application, and what weakens it. The session offers actionable observations that designers can immediately apply to improve their own portfolios.

Intended Audience

This portfolio review session is intended for aspiring and early-career level designers seeking direct, practical feedback on their work. It is especially valuable for students, junior designers, and career switchers preparing to apply for roles and looking to better understand how their portfolios are perceived by hiring teams.
