Marvel's Wolverine is set to be Insomniac Games' most accessible project to date, building on the history that began with Marvel's Spider-Man in 2018. In this talk, Insomniac Games' Senior Designer Researcher Sam Schaffel and Advanced UI/UX Programmer Susannah Hardin will take attendees on a journey covering their studio's culture, vision, values, and accessibility history before delving into the research, planning, design, decision making, and implementation that went into developing Marvel's Wolverine, and the lessons learned along the way. Examples of new and improved features and how they came about will be discussed, as well as stories of teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Takeaway

Attendees will gain an understanding of practical strategies for building support for accessibility into existing production pipelines, advocating for features across disciplines, and creating customizable systems that accommodate a wider range of players without requiring large dedicated teams, through the lens of development efforts for Marvel's Wolverine.

Intended Audience

The target audience for this talk is anyone interested in accessibility, developing support for accessibility, or curious about how building a collaborate pipeline and process works.
