For nearly a decade, the Serious Games Roundtable has been GDC's annual gathering place for developers, researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, students, and others interested in games that create real-world impact. Unlike a traditional presentation, this interactive session is driven by the interests and experiences of the attendees, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, share challenges, and build connections across disciplines.
This year, attendees will break into small groups to explore three questions that cut across the rapidly changing serious games landscape: How do we fund, sustain, and scale serious games? How do we demonstrate and communicate that serious games work? And how is the field changing, and how do we adapt? Following the breakout discussions, the groups will reconvene to share their insights, giving everyone an opportunity to learn from conversations beyond their own.
Whether you're an experienced practitioner, considering a career in serious games, or simply curious about the field, come prepared to share your experiences, hear perspectives from across the community, and examine some of the challenges shaping the future of serious games.
