Join us for the Student Day workshop, geared toward high school students interested in getting involved in the video games industry. The session will include four 90-minute sessions. Attendees will be split into two separate groups and receive one interactive session and one panel each. Please note that space is limited for this session.

SESSION OVERVIEW

Industrial Light & Magic Panel

ILM will be presenting on Star Wars: Beyond Victory is a Mixed Reality (MR) and VR game. The panel will begin from 11:00AM - 12:30PM. The panelists will include: Brandon Charles, David Palumbo, Jennifer Cha and Stephen Zavala.

Double Fine Panel

DF will be talking about life at Double Fine and presenting their soon to be released title, Kiln. This panel will be from 11:00AM - 12:30PM. Moderated by Ashley Esqueda the panel will feature Jason Morales, Fiona Gallagher, Kee Chi, Moira Marr and Tim Schaefer.

Paper Prototyping Workshop

The paper prototyping workshop is meant to get the students flex their creativity skills and to be more interactive. This panel will be from 930am - 11:00am. The workshop will be facilitated by Gameheads staff and industry veteran, CJ Kershner.

The Student Day @ GDC Arcade

This workshop will feature 13 playable demos from game devs of the Latinx in Gaming, Blacks in Gaming, Gameheads, USC and AAPI in Gaming Communities. There will be a brief panel and Q&A after gameplay time. This panel will be from 930am - 11:00am.

Workshop feature:

Playable demos for the following games: Spree, Things Left Unspoken, Drenched, Midautumn, Lucky Fat Cat Diner, Vejigantes, Mirror Magica, Project Jam, Go, Go, V1D10!, Sneaky Fishy, Master of MuSick, VectaGuard: Zero and Gangsta Bean 3: Night of the Rising Bread.
