Leading the technology of a project can be a daunting task and it can often feel like a trek into uncharted territory. This roundtable invites hard-won lessons, candid insights, and practical advice between engineering leaders who share the challenge of managing the big picture of technology across games and teams.

In this session, attendees will propose and vote on discussion topics. Expected themes include: architectural design, long-term planning, collaboration between departments, balancing performance and stability with the delivery of the team, and more. We'll move through selected topics in open conversation, guided by experienced moderators.
Bring your problems and questions. Be ready to share solutions and insight. If you've wondered how to tackle the big picture of tech — you're not alone.

Takeaway

Attendees will leave with real-world insights into managing technology across a team and learn from the experiences of their peers. They will gain perspective of the most important challenges that they and their peers are facing, as well as ideas that they can take back to their teams and put into practice.

Intended Audience

This roundtable is targeted for engineering directors and leads who are responsible for the technology strategy for games, teams and studios. The topics will be focused on high level challenges, but no formal leadership title is required and the roundtable will additionally be of interest to team members who would like to better understand those challenges, and also those who aspire to take those challenges on in the future.
