Transformational games - AKA serious games and gamification - are a valid and growing alternative to traditional entertainment-only titles. Games for education, healthcare, and training are all finding greater acceptance. It's a great alternative if you're looking for a way to shift your career in a direction that is more stable, less rigid, and helps players in profoundly meaningful ways. This talk will give an overview of the field, how and why it is growing, and cover ways that both individuals and teams can find opportunities that fit their needs.
Takeaway
Attendees will gain an overview of how transformational games are growing, and how they can find opportunities in this field. Specifically, it will cover both successes and failures in the past and how game developers can identify the former and avoid the latter.
Intended Audience
People from all game disciplines and levels looking for fresh career opportunities may find this useful. Specific suggestions both for individuals and teams will be presented.
