We're back with new data about mental health and burnout in the games industry. This talk will share findings from the 2026 Mental Health in the Game Industry study, debuting at GDC 2027. Last year we found that 94% of developers we surveyed were experiencing at least one symptom of burnout - this year we're back with a larger sample size, information about what's driving stressors in the industry, and what solutions individuals have found that actually help. Dr. Kilmer will share findings from the study, break down the data, and offer practical, no-fluff recommendations for developers looking to improve the long-term sustainability of their work and the work of their teams.
