Freedom is essential for creating original games. Preserving that freedom for the following projects, however, requires funding, control, technology, and organizational structure. Over the past 20 years, PlatinumGames has developed games with external partners, pursued the challenge of creating and publishing our own IP, and continuously addressed this contradiction through generational transitions within the organization.

In this session, Atsushi Inaba (President, Studio Head, and Executive Producer at PlatinumGames) will not simply recount the past 20 years as a history of success, but examine specific turning points to explain how the company formed external partnerships to safeguard creativity, what it cultivated internally, and how it adapted its decision-making criteria in response to past failures.

Participants will learn a practical framework for selecting projects, protecting resources, designing decision-making processes, and passing individual creativity on to the next generation.

****Inaba will present in Japanese, with simultaneous text translation provided.
