Sarah Engel is a Community Manager at Firaxis Games, where she works to bring developers and players closer together. A lifelong gamer, Sarah originally set out to work in games through game design, studying the discipline at Rochester Institute of Technology before switching to Marketing and earning her B.S. She quickly realized that while she loved making games, she loved talking about them with the people who played them even more. Sarah began her career in games as a Social Media Manager at Private Division, where she helped bring titles including Penny's Big Breakaway and After Us to audiences around the world. She joined Firaxis in 2024, bringing that experience in building passionate gaming communities to the studio. Today, she works closely with Firaxis developers and 2K partners, helps shape the studio's community strategy, and serves as a bridge between the people making games and the people playing them. A longtime strategy game player herself, Sarah has found a particularly fitting home at Firaxis, where she currently works on Civilization VII and leads community efforts to make players a more direct part of the conversation around the game.
