Jungwoo Kim, Principal Engineer, Samsung Electronics
Jungwoo Kim is a multimedia and GPU expert who has worked as a hardware and software engineer at Samsung Electronics for over 20 years. He played a leading role in many activities, the initial announcement of Vulkan in Galaxy S7, co-developing the 1st Android Vulkan demo ProtoStar with Epic Games, joint development the Adaptive Performance with Unity. Through these processes, he built the industry's top GPU and DevTech team, collaborating with numerous GPU vendors, engine companies, and game developers to achieve countless game optimization successes. He has continued to share the optimization techniques and know-how gained through these experiences as a session speaker at various game developer events. Recently, with forming the game optimization task force in Samsung, he has been expanding efforts in various directions, including broader game development cooperation partnerships and extending technical support to areas beyond Vulkan, such as Ray Tracing and Neural Graphics. These efforts aim to ensure that the gaming experience on Galaxy products and the level of technical cooperation with developers remain at the forefront of the industry.
