Paul Lipson, SVP, Interactive Worldwide, Formosa Group
An award-winning executive and creative director, Paul is a leading figure in the gamesand interactive entertainment industry. As the SVP of Formosa Group's Worldwide Interactive team, he drives strategy, content development, and creative pipelines withfamed teams in Los Angeles, Seattle, and the UK.Paul previously worked as Senior Audio Director at Xbox Game Studios and has createdaward-winning content and managed extensive AAA teams and pipelines for leading clientslike Xbox Game Studios, PlayStation Studios, Activision, Ubisoft, Sega, Electronic Arts,LucasArts, 2K Games, Nintendo of America, and many more. His teams enjoy globalrecognition and have been nominated for and won numerous awards and accolades -recent wins include multiple MPSE Golden Reel Awards, DICE Awards, G.A.N.G. Awards,SXSW awards, BAFTA Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, and many others. Paul wasawarded the prestigious Game Audio Network Guild Lifetime Achievement Award at the2023 Game Developers Conference.Paul is extremely passionate about the creative advancement of the video game industryand served as the President of the Game Audio Network Guild – the world’s largestorganization of game audio professionals, for a six-year term. He is an active member of theBoard of Directors of G.A.N.G. and worked closely with the Ojicers to originate theindustry-first Program Partnership Initiative, the Guild Scholarship Award for Game Audio,and worldwide advisor and director network. An active speaker and presenter, he hasconducted panels, lectures, and master classes at the Massachusetts Institute ofTechnology, Yale University, Berklee College of Music, Musician’s Institute, Georgia Tech,SIGGRAPH, GDC, GameSoundCon, Pyramind Studios, AES Conference, New EnglandConservatory, Art Institute San Francisco, GRAMMY Soundtables, The Connecticut FilmFestival, and at the Conservatory of Pernambuco in Brazil. Paul is also a patent holder,inventing a first of its kind Pre-Cognitive Interactive Music System with Microsoft colleagueRobert Ridihalgh.Paul has studied music for most of his life, with a focus on jazz studies andclassical/orchestral music. He holds a BM and MM with summa/highest distinction fromthe world-renowned New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
