Jennifer Miller HammelProgram Host/ProducerRadio Station Classical KUSC-Arcade

Jennifer Miller Hammel has been performing professionally as a vocalist, recording artist, and voice-over talent for over 20 years. Career highlights include Gounod's Faust (Marguerite), Ragtime (Mother), Songs for a New World (Woman #1), soprano soloist in Carmina Burana, and various productions with the Princeton Opera Festival, Opera Santa Barbara, and Long Beach Opera. She can be heard on the soundtracks to Riot Games’ League of Legends and Trion Worlds’ online game Rift: Planes of Telara from Fallout and Starfield composer Inon Zur. In addition, she was the featured soloist in the 2016 animated film Nerdland, and provided backup vocals on Dream Theater’s album The Astonishing. In 2017, she shifted her vocal talents from the opera stage to the radio booth when she joined the on-air team at LA’s Classical California KUSC. She can be heard weekdays 6-10am as the morning show host on Classical KUSC and is the host and producer of the nationally syndicated Opera Show, LA Opera On-Air broadcast series, and Classical California’s on demand video game music stream called Arcade which was featured in the New York Times and NPR’s All Things Considered. She is the host of POPeracast, the podcast for Southern California’s Pacific Opera Project, and a frequent collaborator with the Los Angeles Master Chorale for their “Listen Up!” pre-concert lecture and interview series. She has lectured at Los Angeles Comic-Con, the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, and Concordia University Irvine on the subject of gaming music and its importance in the greater musical landscape. Ms. Miller Hammel was the featured vocal soloist and pianist with the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Jazz Ensemble, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. She completed her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ where she studied with soprano Margaret Cusack. When not telling fascinating musical stories on the radio or learning new arias, she can be found behind a game controller or exploring the beautiful central coast of California.
