Pablo Quarta is a game producer, narrative designer, and adjunct professor in the Design departments at Universidad Nacional Scalabrini Ortiz and Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They were one of the co-founders of Matajuegos, Argentina’s first game workers’ co-op, where they worked on creating independent videogames with strong social, political, and artistic themes that drew on contemporary Latin American culture and current events. Quarta is one of the main developers behind Atuel, a surrealist documentary videogame about the climate crisis in western Argentina which won IndieCade 2022’s Innovation in Experience Design Award and was a finalist for A MAZE. / Berlin’s Most Amazing Award that same year. Atuel has been exhibited in museums, art galleries, documentary festivals, and game conferences all over the world, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival.
