Agenda
Analytics and Data Science Roundtable (Presented by the IGDA)
Data science and analytics have transformed how games are designed and supported, but meaningful insight takes more than dashboards and KPIs. This roundtable explores how we connect data to decisions: framing the right questions, balancing quantitative and qualitative insight, and ensuring analytics serve creativity rather than constrain it. Participants from industry, academia, and research will share challenges, compare approaches, and discuss how to make data more actionable, reliable, and aligned with design intent. This session is hosted by the IGDA Analytics and Data Science SIG.
Takeaway
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how analytics can inform creative and strategic decisions in game development. They will leave with practical ideas for asking better questions, designing more meaningful metrics, and communicating data-driven insights effectively across disciplines.
Intended Audience
This session is suitable for:
Game analytics and data science professionals seeking peer discussion and new perspectives.
Designers, producers, and researchers looking to apply data more effectively in development.
Students and academics studying the intersection of data, player behavior, and game design.
