As game devs, we share feedback with each other every day, but we rarely take time to step back, slow down and reflect on how effectively we're communicating.

The Effective Feedback Workshop provides a hands-on environment to improve the art of both giving and receiving constructive critique. Participants will learn specific, actionable techniques through interactive practice sessions designed to build confidence and clarity. Beyond individual skills, we explore practical strategies to weave these habits into the company culture, making high-quality feedback a natural part of daily interactions.

Takeaway

You'll leave this workshop with a rejuvenated critique tool kit that includes methods, strategies and activities for effectively giving and receiving feedback from multiple perspectives. You'll also have an opportunity to share your ideas and get feedback that can help improve your own methods of critique.

In addition to reflecting on and improving your own feedback skills, you'll be exposed to exercises that you can bring back and use in department meetings and studio-wide gatherings.

Intended Audience

Anyone, from any discipline, interested in effective ways to give and receive feedback. The workshop will be valuable for 2 overlapping audiences: people who want to improve their own communication skills and people who want to learn exercises they can take back to their studios to help improve individual communication skills and help foster a culture that embraces and encourages feedback.
