In March 2026, ADL releases the Online Gaming Leaderboard, the first comprehensive public evaluation of how 10 of the world's most popular online multiplayer games — including Fortnite, Call of Duty, Minecraft, Roblox, and Grand Theft Auto Online — address antisemitism, hate and extremism. This session takes developers inside the project: how ADL builds measurable criteria spanning written policies and in-game safety tooling, what the results reveal about where the industry is succeeding and where opportunities remain, and how gaming companies collaborated with ADL before publication to clarify and strengthen their scores. The talk distills ADL's accompanying best practices guide into actionable steps for design, community, and trust & safety teams, and shares what the top-performing games demonstrate about building safer multiplayer experiences at scale.

Takeaway

Attendees learn how an external evaluator assesses safety in online games — including specific criteria for policies and in-game tooling — what the 10 most popular multiplayer titles reveal about effective player protection, and concrete, achievable practices any studio can adopt to strengthen community safety.

Intended Audience

This session benefits trust & safety professionals, community managers, live-ops and multiplayer designers, producers, and studio leadership responsible for player experience. No prerequisite knowledge is required; the session is accessible to anyone building or operating online games, from indie teams to large publishers.
