With the game industry becoming increasingly difficult to navigate due to shrinking budgets, layoffs, and an uncertain view of sustainability for the future, many professionals are finding themselves in dire straits. For marginalized developers, this is especially troublesome: in a field dominated by the most well-resourced, any increase in challenge can be disastrous for the less privileged. In our roundtable this year, we'll discuss how game audio professionals can continue pressing forward in spite of the challenges ahead. We'll lead three discussions focused on finding and giving one another practical support, remaining resilient in the face of adversity, and cultivating the hope necessary to make it all work.
Takeaway
Attendees will leave our roundtable with strategies for maintaining their spirits when things feel overwhelming, practical advice for obtaining support, and assurance that they are not alone in their struggles.
Intended Audience
This talk is intended for game audio professionals who are invested in the future of representation in the game industry. Individuals from all backgrounds are invited to join us.
