Audience Level: Intermediate

This session will explain how Wargaming has used a powerful new algorithm called Social Value to first track all of the human influence in its game World of Tanks, and then test against that influence in a series of LiveOps campaigns. High-level, the results show that a large portion of revenue is driven by social interactions. Specific campaigns have proven out the idea that getting the right people to get an offer impacts their receptive friends like the proverbial ripples on a pond. This session will share the results, explain how it's done, and then offer a workshop portion in which attendees can explore how the approach might work within their specific games and communities.

Takeaway

Attendees will learn how Social Value works, and see its use in successful LiveOps campaigns from within World of Tanks. A workshop portion will allow attendees to brainstorm and explore the possibilities, including how it might apply in their own titles.

Intended Audience

Attendees should have a basic knowledge of LiveOps campaigns and some familiarity with their in-game communities and game mechanics. Experience with AB testing would be helpful. Although data scientists will have extra insights and questions, no background is required to understand the concepts.
