In this long-running session (which ironically always finishes on time), we will shed light on the most important developments in the live service gaming market on mobile and PC/console through the lens of deep dives on some of the most important games and trends of the past year. Each segment of the talk will shed light on challenges and opportunities in the market and provide useful lessons to designers, product leaders, and strategists. The combination of information packed mini-lectures with unfortunately ample dad jokes will leave you groaning, but better informed about the state of live service games and their most important recent developments.

Takeaway

Attendees will learn about key market and design trends in live service games, roughly equally divided between mobile casual games, mobile midcore games, and PC/console games, through the lens of 6-8 deep dives. Providing useful information about challenges and opportunities in key segments of the live service gaming market.

Intended Audience

Past feedback shows the session is useful for attendees at all levels of experience, but most useful for folks that are relatively new to live service gaming (even if they are very experienced game developers), particularly those that have a key role in shaping slate decisions or feature lineups.
