Speakers

Sara M. Grimes is the Wolfe Chair in Scientific and Technological Literacy and a Full Professor in Communication Studies at McGill University, where she is also founding director of the Kids Play Tech lab. Her research combines design analysis, policy analysis and child user/interaction studies to better understand how digital games and other technologies can be designed and regulated to advance children's rights and wellbeing. She is Principal Investigator of the newly launched "Children playing in the parasocial gameworld," a five year study of AI in children digital games, play, and literacy, and author of the award-winning book Digital Playgrounds: The Hidden Politics of Children's Online Play Spaces, Virtual Worlds, and Connected Games.
