It's spreadsheet time again!
In these microtalks, spreadsheet gurus will showcase their creations, sharing insights on their origins, workflow, design choices, and the discoveries they made along the way.
Liz England will talk about designing your spreadsheets with an eye for sharing and collaboration across a team of non-designers or non-technical folks, focusing on information clarity, UX/aesthetics, data dashboards/summaries, single-use vs. multi-purpose spreadsheets, and less technical uses for spreadsheets as communication tools.
Mike Rossmassler will talk his process for building formulas with dynamic (or non-existant) ranges with Turtle Rock Studios, using tusing powerquery to import JSON data, and then index/match/match across the entirety of the resulting data table.
Emily Robertson will chat about ways to track approvals using dropdowns and conditional formatting
Everest Pipkin will demonstrate how to build project-specific symbolic and semantic languages inside the spreadsheet, which can drive complicated game logics from story progression to event systems.
Gaurav Mathur will share the story of the gamedevmap dataset and discuss workflows the team uses to document the global game industry.
Guillaume Pierre will talk about his process for prototyping game interactions directly in a spreadsheet, using emojis and conditional formatting in place of game assets.
